Oh, hi friends!
Real quick refresher for my brain (and yours, because we are the same, in case that wasn’t already clear):
Out of your control:
The invisible work lurking behind a task
How your work is received, bought, consumed
The speed at which everyone else moves
In your control:
Adopting a new plan when something is off
Building in buffer time so you’re less stressed
Treating today like the privilege it is
PS — We're 27 days ‘til Do It (or Don’t): A Boundary-Creating Journal is out in the world! If you’re interested in creating boundaries to reclaim more time in your life, please preorder at Bookshop, Amazon, or your favorite indie bookstore (mine is The Strand).
On an adjacent note, is anyone interested in hearing me chit-chat about book publishing? I’ll do a little live something-something if so!
Thanks so much for being here, always.
Kara - maybe you know this, maybe you don't, but I usually read your newsletters one day late. I'm an early morning writer and your newsletters come in after I've closed my diary for the day. I use them as inspiration before I get going on my writing practice. Also, writing is not my first job. I have an actual job that pays my bills. Usually, I WFH but today is a go to the office day - with all its distractions, and noise, and expectations. I'm not sure if I would have read this newsletter yesterday that it would have the impact it has on me today. Today is a privilege. I'll build in those buffer times. I'll remember those things out of my control. Thanks so much, always.
Your book publishing-evolution is a natural progression from "Brass Ring Daily"--- ALL content is so inspiring and reassuring!
Amen and amen!
