I had a co-working time with a gal yesterday and she said the most interesting thing: Both things can be true. You know when you've heard something before but this time it just takes hold of your brain. That was one of those times. After reading your post, both statements are sticking with me: One is not all and Both things can be true. Interesting how we (sorry for the lump-together; well, sorry, not sorry) see things one way or the other rather than one way and another. Cheers.
Ohhhhh you know where I am going to use “one is not all”? When I don’t nail a workshop or talk. It happened recently — well, actually, I thought I DID mail it in the room but then was given meh feedback, and it’s been crushing me a bit. Thanks for the reminder! One is not all!
It ABSOLUTELY is not! And why do we have the tendency to hold on to the critiques so much tighter than the praise? I'm sure your next workshop will erase this memory! One! Is! Not! All!

I love when a phrase hits you in exactly the right way and really sticks. There should be a word for *that*!
