Can highly recommend OneTab. It's a browser extension that makes it easy to save the open tabs into one tab (hence the name) and access them at a later point.
I struggle with this SO HARD. I want to read all the things! All the time! I've found that Chrome's reading list can be helpful, though I now stress about how many unread articles I've saved to it...Same with all of the Substacks I subscribe to. I file them away in a separate email folder and go back to read them when I can, but that unread badge just haunts me. But this is a good reminder. So thank you.
The escalating "unread" number always haunts me too. I wonder if it might be easier to mark them all as read, but then read them at our leisure, and archive them when through? Or usually I go through the Substacks every day and pull them up in a browser, archive the email (because the inbox is not a to-do list!) and read them throughout the day.
This reminds me of the morning when I told my supervisor that I was freaking out over everything I felt I had to do. She said, it’s your schedule. You are in charge of your own schedule. Just remain flexible. As a reminder I bought myself a little kid toy – two penguins in floating liquid in some sort of rectangular box – a liquid motion toy. I keep it right by my computer. Sometimes I shake it up and things get wild in there – waves, bubbles, cloudy “windows” – and then it settles back down after a while. I think I need to add a little post-it note on one of its sides. “You create your boundaries.” I think that’s what it needs because sometimes I forget.
"You are in charge of your own schedule" — YES! How often we forget that when pulled by this thing or that one. I love the penguin visual and reminder that we can ride the waves and enjoy when they're still, too.
But isn't it fun sometimes to click on the Untitled doc and have ZERO IDEA what to expect?? haha. I'm gonna go title and file mine in the proper places now...we can do it!
yes, my digital desktop is beyond disorganized ~ and yet i equally seem to always know where things are 🤷♀️i definitely need to create a new folder system and welcome all suggestions!!

Yes yes! I came here to recommend OneTab as well.
Thank you both for the rec! I love the idea of squishing them all together.
