Oh, hi friends!
I feel like the “right” thing to say during a busy crunch when everyone is fighting against overwhelm (of all kinds), dealing with a cold (self included), and tying up loose ends is...
Something easy.
Like, Everything will slow down soon!
But something happened the other day I had to share with you.
I was running around the park, passively listening to some musical theater cast album, appreciating the song and craft, while also trying to remember which number loop I was on, when suddenly I thought:
I will be listening to my own album one day, running these very same loops.
Maybe this is obvious — uhh, of course, Kara, isn’t that what you’ve been working on? How have you not thought of this before? What have you even been doing?!
Sometimes we think things but don’t believe them.
You probably want something, too.
Have you let yourself believe it?
Have you actually imagined what it would be like:
To hear your words — or see yourself — onscreen?
To imagine filling up a room of people who came there because of you?
To change one person’s life?
To see your book in the New Releases section of Barnes & Noble?
To resurrect that dormant friendship?
To enroll in your dream program?
To leave that one difficult habit behind?
It’s so powerful, this shift from “maybe” to “I will…”
Or perhaps you already think this way — and I’m the one who’s behind!
In which case, I would say, how can you let yourself believe something big today?
And what’s the very first step toward bringing it to life?
This is wonderful--thanks, Kara! I'm looking forward to listening to your album.
Yes yes yes!!! This week I am telling everyone I’m connected to “Hey, I want to be in this room with you in May!” It was scary to say it, because what if everyone else said, “Well, that’s not where I want to be.“? But, I really wanted it, so I had to say it, and every time someone (including YOU 🎉) says “Yes, I want to be there too.“ it feels so freaking good! Here’s to taking the risk and turning the lights on to our dreams.
I can’t wait to run around the park humming, Kara Cutruzulla, songs and making eye contact with some other person who knows what I’m singing and give them a knowing nod because we know in that moment that we both understand how powerful your work is!
