Oh, hi friends!
Yesterday I was bouncing around — should I do this? or that? but don’t I need to finish— wait but first—
And on and on.
Finding the lane that feels right and clear and aligned can be tricky.
But then I had one of those OH WAIT YES moments.
So I impulsively recorded a freakishly short podcast about the three steps were getting me back on track. They’re so simple it’s actually annoying.
Do something easy.
Do something nice.
Do something hard.
“Easy,” “nice,” and “hard” are relative — just make sure it’s a mix of things.
Something easy can be reading a page of a book or taking out the trash! Low-level effort, 5 minutes or less.
Something nice works best if it’s something nice for someone else. To get you out of your own head. I picked up groceries for a neighbor. Maybe you can give someone positive feedback.
Something hard is probably the thing bugging you in the first place. Or something requiring a little extra OOMPH. But you’ll feel better when you do it.
Something hard can still be something small, btw. Don’t break your back trying to do everything at once.
You can repeat these steps as many times as you want.
Hope this might help right the ship, if that’s what you need!!
(You can listen to that two-minute episode here. Maybe the podcast will be back soon? Maybe! It’s impossible to predict what I’ll do!)
Oh, Kara!
Bellissimo!
What a fresh perspective!
1. Easy,
Nice,
Hard!
1. Sense of accomplishment.
Moment of joy.
Cracking open the tough shell of HARD work.
Merci,
Merci beaucoup!
After reading your pearls of wisdom for so long, Kara, I was delighted to hear your easy-listening-to voice. Thank you, and kindest regards,
Doug
