Kara, I started reading and am at page 35. So far. So excellent. I will let you know my views when I finish reading the book. I have read other books, but this one is less complicated. His suggestions are practical. Thank you for mentioning it.
So happy you feel that way -- exactly my thoughts, too! Like you can take one tip and comb through your draft and immediately implement it. Much easier than abstract suggestions!
Kara, I am not sure how I’ll use this site, but it is good to have handy. The book Refuse to be Done by Matt Bell, have you finished reading it? Is it helpful for a hopeful, like me? Thank you for you attention to comments. You are learning and sharing.
I did finish Refuse to Be Done and LOVED it. His advice on how to finish a first draft (and then revise your second draft) was incredibly unique and easy to implement. And I’ve read a lot of writing advice books over the years! I had a copy from the library but just ordered one to keep and mark up. Other books you might find useful are Bird by Bird (Anne Lamott) and Big Magic (Liz Gilbert). If you’re looking for something specific, just ask and I’ll try to help!
Ah yes, the challenge of the 10x10 across a weekend (and a long weekend for you as well). I hit my first glitch on Friday when I discovered that my initial practice of leaving my "6" and my "3"until after work *was not* a good idea for a Friday when the sun was shining and the patio was calling my name... So I cut myself some slack and made up for it on Saturday! Hope your 10x10 is still chugging along and that you also have a Memorial Day "free pass" tucked away somewhere!
Like you, I've realized that late-in-the-day isn't the best strategy! Honing this as the days go on...and yes, we all get a "free pass," and extra credit for doing this in the first place!
Loved this week's bits and bobs, Kara! I'm going to head to my local bookstore shortly and pick up Ed's book — and I just finished Miranda July's All Fours, so I'm very excited to dig into that profile. Hope you have a great weekend!

Kara, Thank you for sharing Fiverr. Will keep this handy.
Would love to know what you might eventually use it for!
