Oh, hi friends!
Close the chapter.
Pull the blinds.
We’re at the end of the week!
Finish what you can finish.
Don’t judge what you can’t.
Wind it all down.
Get ready to ease into the weekend — in whatever way that looks like for you.
5 Things That Made Life Better & Brighter This Week
“She operates at one speed & that speed is slow...she just appreciates a leisurely pace to life! Raha enjoys sleeping in & embraces the day when she is well and ready”
That’s my new motto, courtesy of Raha the tiny rescue rhino.
Annie Baker, one of my very, very all-time favorite playwrights, wrote and directed a new film, Janet Planet, coming out in June. I can’t wait to see what she does with film! Watch the trailer.
Looking for voice lessons? My friend, the incredibly talented and kind Stephanie Bacastow, just opened up new slots at her vocal studio! Go here and to “Voice Lessons” for more info.
Small but big deal: Graham crackers!!! How did I forget they exist? They are so good! Been eating grahams with peanut butter every night.
Colin and I went to Washington D.C. for the night to see Ralph Fiennes in Macbeth, directed by Simon Godwin. I am writing this to you on Thursday afternoon, so I’m just going to anticipate that the production tonight (um, last night) is incredible. But it’s also got me thinking about how a short train ride or 24-hour change of scenery can inform our lives (and our work) and what we bring back to the page. A lot, as it turns out. That’s one of the patterns I think it’s useful to interrupt every once in a while. Btw, this production of Macbeth is coming to select movie theaters May 2! Here are the showtimes and locations.
I’d love to know what made your life better and brighter this week…
graham crackers and peanut butter is one of my go-tos!!! isn't it wild how we can just forget... that we're allowed to buy... certain delicious snacks? (we also sometimes let the cat lick a graham cracker for a few seconds, which she loves. we do not eat that cracker)
A trip to Toronto via train - it was a lovely reset!
