Oh, hi!
While editing a transcript the other day I quickly highlighted a chunk and hit delete.
I didn’t overthink. The paragraph didn’t work. It wasn’t as useful as others.
It’s like cleaning up a flower bed. You don’t touch each green thing poking out of the soil, pause, and ask, “Does this stay or go?”
Your brain works faster than that.
Pull, discard.
Highlight, delete.
You know the answer on the first try.
Trust your instincts.
“When you have the most mental energy, before you've fallen down the rabbit hole of email or gotten caught up in other people's requests of your time, email, deadlines, colleagues, anything like that, doing the most important thing for yourself first allows you to overall improve your relationship to work.”
Essential reminder from Jake Kahana.
A Morning Routine I Want to Steal
For the latest episode of Do It Today, I talked with Caveday cofounder and entrepreneur Jake Kahana.
Not only does he have an awe-inspiring morning routine (he does more before 9am than I sometimes do all day lol) but he offers practical advice for carving out time for deep work.
Our chat felt like a mini Monday caffeine jolt. Hope you enjoy!
