Oh, hi friends!
How gutsy were you 15 years ago?
More than now? Less?
Something happens with time.
We gain knowledge, but I think we lose some of our guts, too.
We become aware of everything we don’t know.
We retreat. Become small.
I moved to New York 15 years ago today!
I knew less, but I also had more guts.
I wasn’t intimidated by everything I didn’t know, because the amount I didn’t know was overwhelming.
So I could make bolder choices. Try. Fail.
Facebook just reminded me that seven years ago I directed one of my short plays. I would never do that today.
But why?
Because I know too much.
If you’re bored, or stuck, or tired, or scared, remember the younger you.
The one who didn’t know much, but tried anyway.
What would that person do?
Close your eyes. Make the crazy choice.
Grab those big guts again.
Happy 15th anniversary!
