Oh, hi friends!
Yesterday we talked about mountains, so it’s only natural that today moves on to plains.
Flat, wide, sweeping plains.
No bumps. Not even a little hill.
We come across plains once we’ve gotten really good at something.
Or when we’re bored.
Suddenly, there we are. Leveled off.
Plains are OK, sometimes. You can always see where you're going. The weather’s great.
But you don’t gain much momentum.
Every day looks the same.
And you never get to zoom downhill after a hard climb.
Everything’s smooth. Smooooooth.
Smooth is good when that's what you need.
But eventually, you might start to miss something.
Effort.
Getting stuck on a challenge. And finding a solution.
When you're lost on the plain, you lose the memory of your own capacity.
That you do know how to climb. And try. And fail. And try again.
The plain is so smooth you could probably go on walking forever.
You and the plain plain.
Except.
You won't.
Because there's a voice whispering.
The mountain is calling.
Be brave enough to listen.
