Oh, hi friends!
Are you filling your days or waiting for your days to be filled by someone else?
The interview, the date, the opportunity, the assignment, the editor.
What are you waiting on?
Who are you waiting on?
As friend of the newsletter Diane S. commented last week, “It’s hard to fit in more things I want to do for myself when I’m waiting to see if anyone wants to be around me.”
Mmmhmm!
Oh, the hours, weeks, years we spend waiting.
Please respond to this pitch.
Please give me feedback on this project.
Please say I am worthy.
When we wait, we drift.
When we drift, we forget what we want.
When we forget what we want, we wait some more.
And we trade our time — our single most valuable asset — for inbox refreshing and text checking and a promise that might not ever arrive.
An alternative:
You decide what you’re doing next.
Find a way to do it.
Booking the ticket, starting the business, posting the video, planning the reading, gathering the troops…anything.
You simply must find a way to do it.
Once you’re moving, anyone who wants to come with is welcome, but you’re not waiting for them to tell you anything.
You are filling your days with energy, purpose, and intention.
And now you’re moving.
why, yes, my eyes did pop out of my head! (not literally) when I read my words back to me. I sat with this newsletter open for quite a while. And then I got to work because... Stop Waiting. I decide what I'm going to do next. I will find a way to do it. Thank you so much, Kara.
Holy hell, this is the powerful message I needed to read this morning. Thank you, Kara! ♥
