Oh, hi friends!
When you read a website with industry news, you immediately start comparing your accomplishments to whoever is featured on the homepage.
When you click on a friend's newsletter, you might think about their open rates or growing subscriber base.
When you listen to a podcast and the host doesn't ask the follow-up question you would have asked, you might start thinking, “I could do this better.”
Are these comparisons good? Bad? Avoidable?
Does it matter?
I want to read everything – to keep up on industry news, to support my friends, to get inspired by the work of others.
But I also want — need — my own space to create.
And it's hard to keep strong boundaries around your own space if it's already full of other people, each with their own very strong voice.
Take a few minutes today to prioritize your voice and what you’re aiming for first.
Keep some space clear.
Keep something for yourself.
And keep going.
Thank you for this reminder!!!!
I like reading YOUR voice, Kara! It never feels like it’s detracting from my own. Thanks for your words and inspiration.
