Oh, hi friends!
Are you a little bit all over the place?
The time change felt weird. The beginning of the month, also weird.
Everything, everywhere, heavy.
On Sunday I watched thousands of runners stream down Fifth Avenue. Mile 22. Tough. Strangers screamed so loudly you couldn't pluck one voice from another. The runners heard them all at once, together.
Giving something up is often the last thing we'd like to do. But if I try harder, I'll get better at juggling. Maybe. What if your job isn't to juggle? What if your job is to hold one ball?
If you're not proud of your work right now, maybe it's boring. Not to others — doesn't matter how others feel — but maybe it's boring you.
How could you make it thrilling?
A busy schedule gives me anxiety. A full schedule, though, can be affirming. My week is full of good activities, events, and people. This is correct.
I feel better after writing this. Slightly less all over the place. Slightly more rooted.
New podcast up this morning with Florencia Iriondo, whose new musical South is absolutely wonderful.* Her journey from leaving corporate America and a job she loved at LinkedIn to go all-in on her music inspired me. Hugely. Even if you're not a musical person, I think she will inspire you, too. (Plus, she has a genius daily routine for keeping track of her commitments — alarms!) Listen on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
See? Good people help.
Go make something today.
We need it.
*South runs through Nov. 15 at SoHo Playhouse in Manhattan! Florencia gave us a discount code if you’d like to attend: Use the promo code SOUTH20 for 20 percent off. Trust me. You’ll love it.
I loved this podcast episode!
Florencia is so inspiring. ❤️
