Oh, hi friends!
Colin and I made s’mores last night.
We toasted the marshmallows over the stove.
What a simple delight.
Why didn’t we think to do it before?
And I wonder about all the other tiny joys that might be hiding in plain sight…
A friend posted a photo of a beautiful flower arrangement in his apartment.
Seeing that every day must give him a little lift.
Or a big one.
So looking at the week ahead, I wonder…
What simple delight could you add that might make your life a little better, a little brighter?
PS - Sorry there was no gentle close to the week on Friday! I’ve been cooking up a big project, and realizing my daily writer brain is finite. This space remains a joy for me, though <3
Kara,
Bellissimo post!
Love your POV!
Yes,
our writer-brains need to breathe, and rest.
Our brains never stop.
Equally as active in sleep and daytime,
our brains use more calories than any other organ in the body!
Rest.
Rejuvenate.
Re-store.
Re-generate!
I can't wait to hear about your new project!
Gratitude and admiration,
Susan
Those "simple delights" are the best! What a great idea to make s'mores over the stove. While it's a rare occurence, our s'more-making typically happens in our fire pit. But I remember as a kid, sometimes we'd make them in the toaster oven. You got my wheels turning, Kara. Uh-oh!
Recently, at my encouragement, my husband bought a new robe. We were shopping for shirts he needed and I spotted this VERY soft robe. I made him try it on and he loved it. So my new favorite delight is hugging him when he's wearing it. I always enjoy hugging him, but now he's extra soft when wearing that robe. I giggle every time and don't want to let go.
