Oh, hi friends!
I had an idea for an article the other week, my first in a long time.
It was about how to beat the post-summer scaries.
(Fun!!)
So I wrote a pitch, even though I promised myself I’d finish two other creative projects this year before writing anything else.
I sent it to one outlet.
And then I turned back to my other stuff.
Nothing broke, nothing died.
It reminded me that some ideas are meant to be followed, and others exist to remind you of previous skills and past lives, and still others can be interesting thought experiments.
All you have to do is ask, What if I…
Because more ideas are almost always the right solution.
Sometimes I forget that when I’m in tunnel vision.
But we can always gather, dream, refine, set aside, and return.
More ideas lead to more of everything: energy, perspective, connections.
Can you take two minutes today and write down one idea crumb for the season?
Maybe it’ll even help with those post-summer scaries.
Everyone around me has been so gung ho about September/new January thing (INCLUDING ME), and then yesterday I started freaking out about it all. Just you even mentioning the concept of "the post-summer scaries" made me feel like I wasn't a weirdo for having them, which was EXTREMELY helpful. Thank you so much!
Did they accept the pitch tho??? Send the article! Inquiring minds want to read it!
