Oh, hi friends!
What would move the needle for you?
This has come up a lot in recent conversations with friends.
It usually starts with:
I want to earn more money.
I want to spend less time on soul-sucking work.
I want to find more time to create.
Funnily enough, the answer is often the same.
How much?
HOW. MUCH.
Specifics.
How much more money would move the needle for you?
How much less time spent on soul-sucking work would move the needle for you?
How much more time spent on creative projects would move the needle for you?
“How much” is dangerous, because you’re forced to actually say a number.
Dangerous, yes yes yes. And hard! But you can do it.
Because once you have that number, you can take the next step.
Do you want to earn some more money?
Or do you want to earn $400 more per week?
Do you want to spend less time on soul-sucking work?
Or do you want to rid yourself of one annoying task and outsource it to a colleague or freelancer?
Do you want to spend more time on your creative projects overall?
Or do you want to block off 30 minutes twice a week to dream about what’s next?
What would move the needle?
How much will it take?
Specifics are your friend and mine.
Oh hi, the Do It Today podcast is back!
I learned so much from Broke Millennial author and speaker Erin Lowry, including what to do if you *hate* thinking about money, strategies for folks with wildly variable income, and how she starts and ends her days.
Listen to our short and sweet conversation on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your favorite podcast platform.
BTW, Erin’s brand-new Broke Millennial Workbook is out May 9!
If Your Meaningful Project Needs a Push…
Let’s work together.
For 15 years, I’ve edited and offered notes on book proposals, nonfiction books, business plans, long-form stories, essays, ad campaigns, tricky-to-write emails, pitches, newsletters, cover letters and resumes, screenplays, plays, and more.
What I love working on the most are projects that are deeply meaningful to the person creating them.
I’m terrific at: polishing, tone, clarity, encouragement.
I’m bad at: talking you into an idea you don’t care about.
If you have an important project that you’re trying to nudge over the finish line, let’s talk.
You can hit reply to this email anytime or reach out to kara [dot] cutruzzula [at] gmail and tell me about what you need.
