Oh, hi friends!
Yesterday I saw a poster for a missing cat in my neighborhood.
Then last night I had a very vivid dream that I found the cat.
So I woke up this morning and walked around block after block looking for the cat.
I did not find the cat. (Yet.)
But, I suppose, the lesson could be to listen to your intuition — and see where it might lead you.
The great Laura Belgray starts her day by writing in 750words.com:
“When I wrote in it last year, I was talking about how depressed and upset I was and frustrated with myself, and why can't I write this book? I mean, that's the same thing over and over every day, but it helped in that sense, like at least I wrote something, at least I kept up this habit. It always makes me feel a little bit like a disciplined writer, even if I'm falling off with everything else that I'm supposed to be writing.”
I had such a fun and informative chat with Laura for the latest episode of Do It Today. We talk about her email method called EFAB — aka “email from a bestie,” which is also known as “how to get people to want to open your emails.”
But perhaps my favorite part of our conversation is Laura calling herself an “unapologetic lazy person.” She’s not “lazy,” obviously — she starts her day with a brisk walk! — yet I love how she embraces downtime and doesn’t feel like she has to stuff her calendar in order to feel good about her day. Let’s all take a cue from Laura today and open up 750words.com, walk around the block, or guard our calendars like our lives depend on it.
