Oh, hi friends!
A task expands to fill the time allotted to it.
(Right? This is what all the time-management gurus say?)
This is why one task can take all day, if you have all day to do it.
Or, on a larger scale, why one project can take months — or years — if there is no marker of a finish line.
The only way to find the end is to define it.
So what’s the one thing you’ve wanted to do all year and haven’t gotten around to yet?
The one that come January will feel like “last year’s goal”?
Do you need more time?
Or do you need to define the time?
You can do it. You will do it.
“There is a time for any fledgling artist where one’s taste exceeds one’s abilities. The only way to get through this period is to make things anyway.”
From Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin
Thanks to Dr. Aegean for sending this my way — this is a book many friends have read, loved, and recommended, and which I finally need to read!
Angela Alvarez just won a Latin Grammy for best new artist. She’s 95.
“I promise you…it’s never too late.”
“To those who have yet to make their dreams come true, know that although life is hard, there’s always a way out and with faith and love everything can be achieved,” the Cuban-born singer said in her acceptance speech.
OK, I’ll just be over here crying in the corner!!!!! Incredible story.
IT’S NEVER TOO LATE.
