Oh, hi friends!
Thinking a little bit about systems. How a small change can cascade.
Some questions:
Can you do it faster? Slower? On a different day? Can you finally remember to hydrate before you try to be creative?
Can you handle all your emails in one chunk? Book your meetings in one day? Group all your admin?
Can you take Friday off? Log off Facebook, Twitter, and iMessage on your computer?
Can you ask someone to help? Pick a “go time”? Book the space for Tuesday afternoons?
Can you decide what kind of day you’re going to have—right now—before the day decides for you?
On how to find your flow state:
“You’re gonna ask yourself three questions:
Where am I when I’m getting into the flow state the most?
What am I doing?
Why is it so meaningful? When you can define it and really identify how you uniquely get into the flow state, then you can choose to replicate it.”
I loved talking about flow state with Diane Allen — how to find it, stay in it, and come back to it more often. You can listen to our short conversation here:
(I often find myself in flow state when I’m in a quiet place working on something very detailed—writing, editing text or audio—that is interesting to me and has a clear finish line. Or while running or riding my bike!)
Listen to our Do It Today talk on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, my website, or your favorite podcast platform.
Where do you get into flow?
Oh, Here Is a Dog Rescued in a Cave
This feel-good story delivers exactly what’s promised: a missing dog was found 500 feet underground in a Missouri cave. Two guys got her out. She’s 14! What a cutie. (h/t Colin, of course)
