Oh, hi friends!
We've got Fourth of July around the corner.
And gotta-get-out-of-town vibes.
And that "maybe this email can wait til next week" aura floating around.
It's funny though, because even if there is a time and place for everything, and even if you have an inner desire to be deliberate and prepared, I wonder what might happen instead you thought…
I'll fire it off anyway.
Not, like, in a negligent way. But that class or appointment you were going to sign up for, the trip you wanted to take, the question you were going to ask. All those things you're pushing until later…
What if you didn't?
You have a limited time this week (in the U.S. anyway) so what if you just said:
I'll fire it off anyway.
Kind of takes the pressure off?
Try it with a little thing, then move on to a big thing, if you'd like.
You can always fire it off and then follow up next week.
The idea is — the point is — to get a flame going.
And take advantage of the short week by making it work for you.
See where the matchsticks land.
Dead-on helpful for handling the "itty-bitty week!"
Have a happy 4th, Kara.
Good column. I appreciate the effort that goes onto these.
