Oh, hi friends!
Not all compliments are created equal.
Here's something that may not have made it on your year-end reflection.
Try to think back…
What is the best compliment someone gave you last year?
"Best" is subjective.
Best can be the most meaningful…
Or perfectly-timed…
Or most perceptive…
What did those words mean to you then?
And what might they mean for where you want to go next?
I just came back to let you know that — thanks to you asking this question — I started a new note in my Evernote called
COMPLIMENTS 2024.
I added (today, after a friend/client asked for help writing her bio and I said, "I have a template for that!" and send it to her):
YOU ARE A FONT
Thanks for the inspiration! It's the gift that'll keep on giving! I save nice emails and things, but there's nothing like the seduction of a single document titled COMPLIMENTS
After a I met with a storyteller (who I was coaching for my live storytelling show), she emailed to thank me and then said, “You have a lovely talent to really see people”. Something about the phrasing was very moving!
Thanks for the prompt — it’s so easy to forget these!!
