Oh, hi friends!
Yesterday afternoon I cheered for runners around mile 22 of the New York marathon. It was around 4pm, and there was a chill in the air. A friend was 10 or so blocks away, according to the app. One runner stopped to pet a tiny, frizzy dog, yelling behind her “thank you” after regaining her pace. Someone on the curb screamed and leapt in the air for a friend who was running, and they hugged and said “I love you / I love you too.” A woman stopped to stretch her calves and asked if she could put her hand on my shoulder for balance. Of course, I said. You’re good, you’re golden, keep going.
Viva Italia!
Come on Emma!
Central Park is right there!
On and on the streets shouted and the music played and the runners ran and the sun started to set.
It was a beautiful day. Optimism and effort poured through the streets.
Where are they going?
Where are we all going?
Forward.
Thank you.
Such Amazing Magic out there! ✨✨✨✨✨
