Oh, hi friends!

Whoa there, time for a gentle? close? to the? week? already?!

I’ll say this: the smoothest times during my week were when I committed to a single task at a time.

A logistical decision to be made…

One time-sensitive email to write…

Many things fell through the cracks or are still imperfect, but small progress is progress. 

Today is also a good day for progress.

One thing can be enough.

6 Things That Made the Week Brighter

• My brother Eric and I had a morning walk through Central Park and wound our way through midtown. It was misty and moody and a perfect way to catch up on life — a highlight of the month!

• Speaking of siblings, watching Cincinnati Zoo star Fiona the hippo pester her little brother Fritz made me cackle. You stick up for yourself, girl! 

• Full week of musicals and plays: The York Theatre’s benefit featuring my fave

  Liz Callaway
  , Lempicka, The Outsiders, and Philadelphia, Here I Come! at the Irish Rep. The more I see, the more I learn.

• Firing off a quick follow-up email to get it out of my brain and onto the other person’s brain. Even if nothing happens immediately, it’s always good to bounce the ball back so you don’t have to hold it yourself.

• After five days off, my legs feel as good as new. Glad for the rest, and glad to slowly get back to running again. It anchors my week.

• Finally, saw a few of my dear Daily Beast pals last weekend, which made me incredibly happy. And then ran into another great Beast on the subway last night. (Hi, Andrew!) Some bonds are never broken, no matter how many years go by. This makes me think…would you like to reconnect with someone from a past life?
