Oh, hi friends!
Feels like I can’t close down the week without writing a newsletter, so here I am!
I was in a really crummy mood this week, tbh. Migraine one day, blasé the next. And while it’s never an instant light switch back *on*, a few things helped
going for a run with Colin (twice!) (30 minutes)
chatting for the podcast, which reminds me to ask myself, “What am *I* doing today?” (30 minutes)
filing an invoice (5 minutes, and it was a task I put off for two weeks)
hitting a journal deadline (2 hours)
run-walk chat with Aransas this morning (1 hour)
zooming about a new musical project (90 minutes)
The themes here are
a) connecting with other people
b) getting outside
c) the satisfying zings of doing something and knowing it’s done and
d) reigniting excitement for projects
I like seeing how much time I spent on each activity too, as a reminder of how simple it often is to turn the day around. Thirty minutes here, an hour there, five minutes over there…a lot can change.
Anyway, I wanted to share that in case you had a less-than-stellar week, or maybe if you just wanted to reflect on what actually happened during your week — instead of the story you might be telling yourself, which can often be less than entirely accurate.
Oh, brains!!!

From this great profile of the prolific playwright. (Highly recommend seeing Topdog/Underdog on Broadway right now!)
Hi from Chewy, a 12-year-old female who’s just shy of 17 pounds and looking for her forever family. She’s available for adoption at the ACC in Manhattan. That face!!!
Have a great weekend, my friends. Thanks for being here.
This one really resonated with me. Thank you Kara, for the reminder that little things ARE the big things. ❤️
