Oh, hi friends!
It's May 1st and this is going to be the best month of your life.
….
See?
That was a lot, right?
Maybe a little too optimistic. A little too bold. A little too avoidant of the obvious major roadblocks already in place that will prevent this month from being the best month of your life.
Or…
Maybe it wasn't a lot.
Maybe it wasn't too optimistic or bold or avoidant.
Maybe it wasn't even enough.
We lower the ceiling on our own potential for happiness.
Blank. Nervous. Bored.
Why?
Look up.
Really look up.
You can go as high as you want.
You can make what you want.
It's May 1st and this is going to be the best month of your life.
Monday Is New Podcast Day
Today with David Koepp: Screenwriting, Noisy Neighbors & Fighting the Enemy of Work
I really loved having this conversation with screenwriter and author David Koepp, who's written and co-written the screenplays for over 30 films, from Death Becomes Her and Jurassic Park to Mission: Impossible, and is also a director and author of two novels, Cold Storage and Aurora (both of which are becoming films!).
I appreciated this chat for many reasons, but here’s three:
The reveal that his own working conditions aren’t always ideal (I’m obsessed with his office neighbor Gabe…)
He shares how to respond to notes on your work that you may not agree with
He has a method for fighting the number one enemy of work (aka the Internet, aka “the death of coherent thought,” according to David)
He’s also the nicest guy. (No surprise there, he’s a Koepp!)
Listen to our chat on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcast vitamins. And if you like the episode, please forward to a friend who might appreciate it!
PS — Don’t forget it’s May 1st and this is going to be the best month of your life!!!
