Do I know how to read? (A case study)

Oh, hi friends!
When I graduated high school, I remember signing everyone’s yearbooks, “Life is waiting,” which was the tagline I stole from that Tom Hanks movie The Terminal.
I’ve thought of that phrase many times since then, and wanted to share it all with you. So I just Googled the poster and it suddenly struck me for the first time — a full 15 years later — the double meaning of the phrase. (Am I slow?)
When I wrote it, I was always emphasizing the “life.” Like, life is waiting…so go out and grab it!
Never, not once in all these years, did I consider the weight of “waiting.” Life is all about waiting. (Which makes much more sense given that he’s waiting in an airport terminal…and makes my yearbook inscription much more depressing than I intended it to be! Sorry, Hanford High School Class of 2004.)
WHAT THE HECK.
How did I not think of that before??
But how many things do we decide once and never reconsider?
Maybe they have one meaning. Or maybe that project or idea or person is worth a second look from a new angle. Maybe the years have given you a new perspective.
I don’t know. All I know is…life is waiting.
(Ihadtosayit.)

If Billy ran up to me on the street, I would be terrified. But watching everyone else interact with Billy — and the Jonas Brothers! — gave me a good laugh. Watch if you need one, too! (h/t Scott DeCarlo + Alex Kirkman!)

Thanks, as always, for reading.
