Meeting Tina Fey

Oh, hi friends!
I read this history of Saturday Night Live when I was in high school. When I visited New York for the first time—years before I moved here—I took a photo outside of 30 Rockefeller Plaza and wrote on my blog "I'm even more excited for Tina Fey's new show!" which...hadn't aired a single episode yet. My BFF Marissa and I saw Mean Girls three times in theaters. The only comedy I've watched in the last year was Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
Basically, I've been a Tina Fey fangirl since birth.
And this week I saw her musical Mean Girls on Broadway and interviewed her backstage. I don't usually get starstruck but I'll just tell you, for those five whole minutes, I WAS STARSTRUCK. (I also interviewed three of the soccer champions from the 1999 World Cup winning team, who reunited to see the musical which was so entertaining and empowering and yeaaah I loved it. Go see it!)
But even beyond the interview, there was an even more significant moment. I stood on the stage and looked at the empty theater and thought...yes. yes. yes. This is exactly where I want to be.
Here is my story! Thank you for indulging my surreal moment.
And plant the seeds, plant the seeds, plant the seeds. Things will grow in ways you can never expect.
“I couldn’t believe this was actually happening to me,” she said. “Carrying a school bag has always been my dream.”
A South Korea school was running out of children, so they began enrolling illiterate grandmothers. TEARS. Also, 75-year-old Park Jong-sim is a champion octopus catcher in her village. To practice her penmanship, she wakes up before dawn. MORE TEARS. It's never too late.

Mmm. "I drank my way through the Trader Joe's booze aisle and found some incredible deals."
I haven't tried it yet but my friend Alexa Harrison swears by Mailstrom to clean up her inbox.
