What are you doing that's difficult?

Oh, hi friends!
Are you making things more difficult than they have to be?
Is there an easy solution staring you in the face?
I just thought I'd ask the question and you might know the answer.

This was the view I had on one of my old running paths. NOSTALGIA.
"There are few things our culture loves more than a “before and after” story, but rarely do we see the middle part, that mucky bit; or, more radical yet, the willingness to stick with mediocrity...
Accepting your own mediocrity is a kind of small death — you are waving goodbye to the life you might have had, one in which you got to sing '99 Luftballons' with your college acapella group (I dream big). But it also opens a window to something arguably better: the soft, warm bath of ease, the freedom to do a thing just because you really like it. Just because it feels good."
Such a good piece about "the radical act of embracing your own mediocrity." (Thanks to Julia Glum for the tip!).
Because not every hobby needs to be a side hustle, or thrum with a sense of competition. I hope to remember this!

Again, I invite/beg you to watch the Falcon Cam. These four eggs are gonna hatch any...second...now.
I also feel like Adele and Frank (the mother and father falcons) are making me more productive? Any time I feel inclined to click to Twitter, I check in on them for a second, and then get back to my task. My brain isn't clouded by a new article to read or an email to digest. Instead I can simply watch the birds.

Thanks, as always, for reading.
