Bye-bye, weekend. Hello, week.

Oh, hi friends!
Ahhhhhhhhhhh.
You had a weekend. Maybe you saw the Avengers or watched Game of Thrones or went for a walk or actually had to work much of it or saw friends and ate brunch or laid on the couch most of the time or had a bad one or a good one or or or.
It was a weekend!
Now it's time for a week.
Are you ready?
Take a minute to look ahead.
Alright, now you're ready?
Let's go.
"On setting boundaries: Everyone has to find their line. It doesn’t have to be the same line that I have. My line is I’ll share what’s vulnerable in my life, but I’m not sharing what’s intimate in my life. I’m just not gonna do that, because I’m a private person. I think the biggest key to that is really understanding your intentions behind sharing. So, whether it’s in person or online, does your self worth or your healing depend on the reaction of what you hear back when you share something? So I try not to share anything where I’m dependent on how people are going to react."
Brene Brown (in her "How I Get It Done" interview) brings up such a great point: to ask what is your intention for sharing...your work, your newsletter, the stories you write, the art you post on Instagram, the personal updates you write on Facebook.
If your intention is wrapped up in the expectation that someone will like it or respond or you'll receive something of value back...well, that's where it gets tricky. I suppose you can find your own line (as she says) by trying, seeing how you feel, and trying again.

John Donohue (a Brass Ring reader!) is working on one really big goal: he's drawing all the restaurants in New York City. WHAT. Amazing, right? The New York Times wrote about his quest.
I especially loved this part: "He buys sketch pads and Pilot pens by the case, and spends about 20 minutes on each sketch, then adds a single color at home on his computer. This means fixing wayward lines as he makes them, and drawing the buildings as he sees them, not necessarily as they are."
Progress and process > perfection.
If you pre-order before the book comes out May 14, John is giving away a signed 8x10! More details on his site — and I just pre-ordered over yonder. Gosh it's nice to bring books into your home, isn't it? I can't wait to reminisce over all the restaurants I've visited — and more I hope to visit soon.

Thanks, as always, for reading.
