You can't take all the advice, all the time

Oh, hi friends!
Thinking lately about all the advice I've heard for years but never actually taken.
Or the books I've always thought I should read but never bought...or did buy but never removed from the shelf.
Or the practices I've wanted to start but never turned into routines (I really had the best intentions to start meditating...).
We certainly can't do everything.
And I sort of figure that the right books turn up when I really need to read them, and the right bits of advice get revealed when I really need to learn those lessons.
But I guess it's a matter of tuning in and watching the patterns. What turns up over and over? Maybe it's something to listen to.

I'm into it.

"It doesn’t bother me to produce and release work that isn’t perfect.
I care about what I create and want it to be good, but I don’t agonize over every word or aspect of it.
I create, improve, and release."
I found a lot of value in this article “How I Get Stuff Done” by Josh Spector and was delighted to know we create our newsletters in the same way: We essentially always do the same thing (my newsletter consists of an opening note, photo, quote, and a recommendation).
We're not trying to recreate the wheel each time, so each time it's easier and easier to make.
This is a huge difference compared to 10 years ago, when I was first writing — I'd type half a sentence, then move on to a new thought, and then another, and another, never satisfied with anything I wrote, and never finishing anything.
The truth is, I'm still rarely satisfied! Nothing is ever perfect. But at least now more of my work is released and out of my hands.

Oh wow. Here’s Cynthia Erivo singing “Masterpiece (Mona Lisa)” by Jazmine Sullivan and “I’m Here” from The Color Purple. 12 minutes well spent.
