You're juggling
Oh, hi friends!
Joked the other day that I’m going to change the name of this newsletter to “Brass Ring Occasionally” because that seems more accurate than “daily,” but also…there is kinda a lot going on right now! And it’s OK!
Reminded also by my friend Aransas that when we fit something new into our lives, there’s a ripple effect.
Something else has to move, even slightly.
My musical theater workshop is back to in person sessions, hooray! But that means not simply jumping on Zoom at 4pm, but getting on the subway an hour earlier. And it means staying out later. It’s a small thing, but can change the geometry of the entire day.
“Letters From May,” the 10-minute musical I wrote with Kris is finally getting produced next month in the Sound Bites Festival (two and a half years after its original date). This means lots of emails, contacting actors, booking rehearsals, coordinating, communicating. All good things, but new things. The geometry changes.
These are only two small examples from...a lot.
You are juggling a lot too right now. Things are happening, right? You feel it too?
So if you need to move something from “daily” to “occasionally” give yourself some grace. It’s OK!
It will be OK.
Mmm. Felt this one deep in my soul. Keep holding on if you’re in the “nothing” period. Something’s coming.
Have you heard about the Coastal Grandmother trend taking over TikTok? Personally, I can’t wait to become a linen-wearing, beach-strolling Diane Keaton.
Do you like these daily emails? Please share with a friend!
You can also support my work by checking out my motivational journal, Do It For Yourself, designed to guide you through your creative and work projects, and my upcoming journal Do It Today, which encourages you to find time for the things that matter most to you.
Thanks, as always, for reading.
