Monday energy
Oh, hi friends!
Back in the swing of things, as they say.
Let’s go.
1 Question For You
If someone took control of your life tomorrow, what’s the first thing they would change?
A “wow” question from James Clear’s latest newsletter.
It’s always easier to give advice to someone else than it is to give it to ourselves, which is why this question works so well.
What would someone else say about where you are right now, and what you should do next?
(I have a feeling someone would tell me “Stop worrying, wake up, and write.”)
So I’ll ask it again: If someone took control of your life tomorrow, what’s the first thing they would change?
At last night’s Grammy Awards, an album that started on TikTok won the award for best musical theater album.
Think about that!
In her acceptance speech, Abigail Barlow said, “A year ago when I asked the internet, ‘What if ‘Bridgerton’ was a musical?’ I could not have imagined we would be holding a Grammy in our hands. We want to thank everyone on the internet who has watched us create this album from the ground up, we share this with you.”
Emily Bear said, “This is really for all of my fellow female producers, composers, engineers that are still struggling to gain recognition and support for what we do. It’s not that we don’t exist, we do.”
These two young women found a new space—and millions of fans—and then the Recording Academy took notice.
There are fewer barriers to create your work and infinite ways to find your audience.
What will you make?
What will you share?
What will you start today?
