When you're moving fast

Oh, hi friends!
I saw my brother Eric this weekend and he asked, "How's your month been?" Because that's how long it was since we'd seen each other. Even though I write the date all the time—on invoices, on this newsletter, in emails—it hadn't really hit me how deep into the year we're already creeping. Life moves fast. Something something.
I guess we could try to slow it down. To pause and take stock of each passing moment. But is that realistic? And do you really want to slow down when everything seems to be moving fast for a reason?
Another solution, I suppose, is to simply be happy with the choices you make in the moment. Because there's no going back to early February or January. Let's not even talk about 2018.
But as each day barrels on—as it will today, tomorrow, this entire week—feeling confident about your choices and the way you spend your time is all that you can ask for. Doing your best, in other words. You're just doing your best.

Yeah, this little guy is definitely plotting something.

I use Evernote to file away ideas, quotes, and characters. I needed to be inspired by something for this newsletter, so I searched "quote" and this came up. And turns out it's exactly what I needed to hear.

Here's what it feels like to be nominated for an Oscar.
Look at their faces. Their reactions. Pure joy!
Now it's two days after the actual awards were handed out. Not everyone could win. I hope they can remember how happy they were in that moment—it's an honor just to be nominated and all that. The process can still be full of joy, even if the end result isn't everything you wanted.

Thanks, as always, for reading.
