Hello, good morning, let’s go
Oh, hi friends!
Wake up, wake up, it’s Monday!
You have a full week ahead!
Work to do, people to see, loops to run, songs to write, cookies to eat, parties to attend!
Don’t forget to breathe.
Don’t forget to brush your teeth.
Don’t forget to wake up.
Let’s goooooooo.
My brain.
You will succeed if you are fearless of failure.
You will succeed if you are fearless of failure.
You will succeed if you are fearless of failure.
“If you wait until they're perfect, it’ll be like three years from now. Or five years. Or never.”
This weekend, in the middle of writing my Pulitzer Prize-winning play (oh yes, that’s still happening), I wandered around looking for YouTube videos—that’s my trick when working from home; watching one episode of a TV show can turn into four episodes, but watching a YouTube video usually only takes 15 minutes and then you’re done with lunch and get back to work—anyway, I came across this short interview with the The Mother****er with the Hat playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis.
If you haven’t written anything in awhile, his advice is to call up your friends and ask them to come read your new play aloud on a Saturday. Even if you haven’t written anything yet, you sure will by Saturday.
Steal his trick! Or find your own. You can find a way to make it work.

Thanks, as always, for reading.
