Who is the happiest person you know?
Oh, hi friends!
Who is the happiest person you know?
I asked this question to a friend yesterday and he responded instantly. He didn't have to debate—one person came to mind who is undeniably happy.
And you know why this friend is happy?
He said it’s because...she thinks happy thoughts.
That’s it.
I wonder if the same is true of the person who came to your mind?
PS — Because I like to be transparent with my work process, I wanted to tell you why there was no newsletter yesterday—I was tired! Shooting for the Pulitzer Prize is exhausting (she says without irony). And even though the newsletters don’t take very long to write, they do take creative effort that’s sometimes not available at 11pm. I told myself I’d wake up at 6am and send it out, but, you know…LOL. A wee break is good. Cutting yourself some slack is good. Where can you give yourself some today?
Grab it.

She had the talent: the four-octave range and effortless vocal agility that led Gloria Estefan, after hearing the 8-year-old Grande sing “My Heart Will Go On” at a cruise-ship karaoke night, to tell her she was gifted. She had the support system: her close-knit family, familiar to anyone who follows the singer on social media. And she had the work ethic, performing in public regularly before the age of 10 and on Broadway by age 15.
“When I was 6 years old, I just kind of decided that’s what I’m going to do with my life, period,” says Grande, who grew up in Boca Raton, Fla. “I manifested it. I knew I would. There was never really a doubt in my mind.”
Ariana Grande, master manifester.
A New Chrome Extension I Love
You know what I don’t like? Pages. And Microsoft Word. Any sort of word processor, really. They’re usually so unappealing that I always float back to my browser eager to click and, well, browse.
But I need to write! I want to write.
Then the other day I thought, wait, where if there was a way to write inside my browser?! So, take a habit that I’m unlikely to break (toodling around in Chrome) and subversively piggyback a new habit onto it.
Turns out there’s a Chrome extension that does that?! Next Tab Draft. Every time you open a new tab, a draft opens and you can take notes—or write the story you’ve been putting off. Um. Genius?
