Cool and in control
Oh, hi friends!
How are you?
How is your day looking?
If the answer is not great, it's OK.
There are some things that are gonna be out of your control. Things that are already planned and immovable, things that you’re dreading, things that you don’t want to deal with.
But there are also dozens—hundreds—of factors that are in your control.
Think of one. Maybe it’s getting out of bed right after reading this instead of checking Instagram and being late for work again. (Not calling you out! Just saying!) Maybe it’s killing that one tiny haunting to-do on your list. Maybe it’s making time for a good cup of coffee. I don't know your factors—but you’ve got some. Find ‘em and use ‘em.
What do you hear?

“There are so many incredibly talented people out there who are afraid. I just want to shake them and say, we all are. Every one of us is. My sister Sally said it best: ‘Don’t let fear keep you from your destiny.’ So many people stay on the sidelines, and it pains me, because I want them in the game too. You don’t get to choose the music that life plays you, but you do get to choose how you dance to it.”
Robin Roberts is an inspiration! Loved this interview with her.
“I think my one skill is that I’ll outwork anybody. I’ll work harder.”
Matt Damon talks about getting called back for Dead Poets Society, not getting cast, and then working all summer as a ticket-taker at a movie theater that only played one movie: Dead Poets Society. He also didn’t get cast in Primal Fear. At the time, “it wasn’t self-doubt, it was frustration at the system, because the system is not built for you to succeed. You have to break through it.” So then he and Ben (Affleck, of course), wrote Good Will Hunting.
