At your fingertips
Oh, hi friends!
There is already so much at our fingertips we can use.
Don’t forget the ideas hiding in corners. Drafts in folders. Friends who can help.
Go gather it all and see what you’ve got.
It’s a lot.
“There’s not anything I want to do anymore — except one thing,” Jane says, smiling at her last career ambition. “I want to be known as the oldest actor ever to win an Academy Award. I said to my agent: Find me the role so that I can stand up there and say, ‘Tony, I beat ya!’” (Her friend Anthony Hopkins took the mantle earlier this year, at age 83.)
OK, I love Jane Alexander. What a moonshot. (Let’s go get you that Oscar!) This profile detailing her career accomplishments and wide-ranging wildlife conservation was inspiring to read.
Wonderful Ways to Say No
Oh goodness, I happened to come across this deep cut from Howard Ashman and Alan Menken. When they weren’t writing Little Shop of Horrors or The Little Mermaid, they wrote this song for Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue.
And if it has to be in my head, it has to be in yours? But also, they managed to get in so many classic characters in one minute and 43 seconds! (I'm on a big kick right now that everything should be shorter? Shorter scripts, plays, songs...) Brevity is king.
