Quick Friday fix
Oh, hi friends!
Is something not working?
Can you unplug and plug it back in? Hit the delete key and start over? Write a draft email, decide not to send it, then write the real one?
Can you take a five-minute break? Take a deep breath? Break in your new running shoes?
Can you ask a clarifying question? Phone a friend? Follow up?
Maybe it’s not not working.
You just haven’t found the right solution yet.
But you will.
The Invisible 65,000
This is a compelling video about a day in the life of a New York City delivery worker — he traveled 60 blocks to deliver ice cream and received a $1.67 tip. Now, many workers are banding together to fight off thieves (their e-bikes cost over $2,000), find shelter during storms, and ask for better protections from apps like Doordash which treat the delivery system like a game.
Read about it in this incredible New York mag cover story by my friend Josh Dzieza, who thought he was writing a story about e-bikes and bike lanes, but which turned into something much bigger. (Follow those instincts!) And it reminded me of the grace and compassion we should extend to everyone around us in this city. Convenience has a hidden cost. (And remember to tip well, please, always!!)
Do you like these daily emails? Please share with a friend!

Thanks, as always, for reading.
