A quick one for ya
Oh, hi friends!
You don’t have to be perfect today.
(That's all! Because you truly don't.)
“How do I want to spend my time?”
There was a lot of chatter about “languishing” being the emotion of the moment a few weeks ago. (Two cents: I find it counterintuitive to label a feeling in a negative way because it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. ‘Oh, I don’t have any energy today…that must be because I’m languishing, but anyway…!)
Now there’s talk of the opposite: flourishing! Solid steps to help you flourish here but the most helpful question I found at the very end, and it’s also the easiest one to remember. It’s to ask yourself: “How do I want to spend my time?”
Long-Haired Wise Man Ethan Hawke Has Something for You
“I think most of us really want to offer the world something of quality, something that the world will consider good or important. And that’s really the enemy, because it’s not up to us whether what we do is any good, and if history taught us anything, the world is an extremely unreliable critic.”
Someone in the comments said “this is the perfect ten minute video to get you back on the creative wagon” — and I agree! He talks about when art doesn’t become a luxury and becomes sustenance instead, and being in the play Saint Joan when he was 12 years old and how that moment changed his life. (Thanks to Carla Zanoni for bringing it to my attention!)
