But what if you don't want a break
Oh, hi friends!
The other day I was wondering why I wasn’t reacting well to the idea of “taking a break” and slowing down some of my work.
Then I remembered something I read in one of Gretchen Rubin’s newsletters.
She was talking about how when you feel a little “off,” it’s important to figure out whether you need to ask less of yourself (taking a break, setting boundaries, saying ‘no’ more often) or whether you should ask a little more of yourself (setting new goals, going beyond that day’s comfort zone, reaching higher).
(Personally, she said she often feels better when she begins to ask more of herself.)
I’ve had periods of extreme breaks and realized that right now I don’t want a break! I want lots of exciting projects and to know I’m writing, thinking, and creating more each day. To do that, I need to amp up and not ramp down.
Your own answer will probably change all the time, but I wanted to pose that question to you: Right now, do you need to ask more or less of yourself? (There is no wrong answer.)
LOL. But also, same? Time to do a little thinking about what’s going in the “definitely doing this now” pile and what can be left behind.

Ahhh. Deep breaths today.
