Yes, we saw the Central Park snowy owl
Oh, hi friends!
Another day flying by.
You know that thing you thought you should do in the morning, but haven’t yet, and now you think it’s too late?
It probably isn’t!
We have time.
Let’s use it.
“Don’t put out fires you didn't start.”
Oooh. Appreciated this gem from a workshop I took with writer Shaina Taub on Tuesday through Maestra, an org for “the women who make the music in the musical theater industry.”
Meet My New Best Friend
It’s the middle of the day and Colin says, “check your phone.” I do — he’s sent me a tweet revealing the “ultra rare” snowy owl has been spotted in Central Park, only a few blocks from our apartment.
We race off to see the owl. He’s easy to spot. A big, albino football sitting on a baseball field. There’s speculation he stopped there because he thought it was a beach (on account of the sand and all).
Dozens of birders and a group of schoolkids are there, gazing at the bird — probably a female, says a park ranger — from across the field.
Colin got this shot with a super zoom.
Isn't she beautiful???
And that’s the story of the snowy owl. More here in this Gothamist report and follow @BirdCentralPark for any more sightings, although as of midday Thursday, it seems she’s flown away!
