A quick boost for ya
Oh, hi friends!
What day is it? What week is it? I definitely know what year it is — don't we all — but time is so squishy these days I have a hard time pinpointing where, exactly, we are in the day-to-day cycle.
And then I think…does it matter?
Because all we have right now is the moment sitting in front of us.
And a choice to make: What will you do next?
Maybe if you stack up a few good choices, they’ll add up to a good day — no matter where it falls on the calendar.
Oof. Did this make you think of any tasks?
Three immediately sprang to my mind (drop off router at Spectrum, unpack final box, schedule flu shot!!). Here’s to knocking them off ASAP, freeing up that brainspace, and moving on!!

A Quick Stress Reliever
I love these controlled breathing exercises, shared in NYT Smarter Living by my friend Lesley Alderman. Before the week takes off (um, even more than it already has), I’m trying “coherent breathing” which involve breathing in to the count of five, pausing, and breathing out to the count of six. There’s no harm in trying, right? Two more exercises here.
Trying Something New Alert!
I want to start a once-a-month or once-every-other-week or weekly column (we'll figure it out) where I answer questions from Brass Ring Daily readers. I won't call it an advice column because as I always say, "We're figuring it out together," but hopefully I'll be able to share tactics or something from my brain that will be helpful when geared toward your experience.
So if you have a question about your creative or work projects or something more general about work/life (balance? procrastination? you read this newsletter, you know what I talk about!) and you'd be comfortable with me sharing your question (and your name or a pseudonym) with newsletter readers, please send it over to kara.cutruzzula@gmail.com and put Ask Brass Ring Daily in the subject line. I'll try to answer as many as I can!
Do you like these daily emails? Please share with a friend!
You can also support my work by checking out my new motivational journal, Do It For Yourself, designed to guide you through your creative and work projects.
Thanks, as always, for reading.
Love, Kara
