How to focus when that idea seems absurd
Oh, hi friends!
I was going to write about focus today. Then I thought, Hmm, what about upgrading? Then, maybe, how to use any extra energy you’re feeling in positive and constructive ways!
But like many thoughts I’ve had in the last few months, each idea was half-formed. I couldn’t think on one for more than a few minutes before immediately jumping to something else.
I have to trust that they will develop into something more concrete with time. That they’re not going anywhere and, if anything, show me that there are always multiple directions to go.
So if you’re struggling to decide something lately, I hope that’s useful.
The more you think things through, the more you’re forming your ideas. One will rise to the top. Maybe it’s the best one, maybe it’s simply the one right for this moment. But it will signal itself to you in clear and unmistakable ways by saying, “Go this way — for now."
“Simplicity matters — just a thank you is worth your time.”
I read this line in Gary Vaynerchuk’s newslettter “Gary Veekly” (LOL).
A crucial reminder as we emerge from a time when even the most simple tasks felt full of effort.
Let's keep chipping away, bit by bit.
Is It Time for a Refresh?
My friend and fellow Brass Ringer Adam Lowder is teaching a new Skillshare class on Truthful Acting, which he says is aimed at actors who have little to no training or actors who are looking for a place to refresh and rejuvenate their technique especially during this time of limited in-person engagement! Lessons range from script analysis to emotional preparation.
Check out his intro video here and you can sign up for a 14-day free trial to Skillshare Premium right here to get all the lessons (less than an hour total). (Which reminds me I need to get back on my Masterclass kick — I forgot how much joy is found in LEARNING!!)
Do you like these daily emails? Please share with a friend!
You can also support my work by checking out my new motivational journal, Do It For Yourself, designed to guide you through your creative and work projects.
Thanks, as always, for reading.
Love, Kara
