How to stay hopeful (yes, still)
Oh, hi friends!
There is always an ending.
Your piece publishes, the merger is complete, the conference happens, your trip has a final night, the last vote is tallied.
Having a kind of landing place can be a comfort. Or it can be bittersweet.
So when I think about having hope, I think about the inevitability of a real, concrete ending.
If it’s hard to find hope in uncertainty, then look to that small certainty: it will be over soon, and you can hope for a better day beyond the one you're in.
This is the baby goat we need. This is the baby goat we deserve.
Thank you Alison Peters for drawing the very important Instagram @goats_hub to my attention.
Have I Got a Show For You!
I’ve learned something new about myself: I like detective shows? Specifically, this one called Endeavour, a British series set in Oxford in the 1960s that acts as a prequel to Inspector Morse, a very popular show that I of course know nothing about. There are seven seasons, 30 episodes total. Murder! Intrigue! Brooding! Britishisms! It’s on Prime Video and more background info on PBS. Maybe everyone’s already seen this? I don’t know! But that’s what I’m watching to escape, well, everything! Thanks to Mr. Macdonald for the recommendation!! This is a week of exclamation marks!!!!!
