When you're trying something new
Oh, hi friends!
My hands were jittery. My stomach was churning.
How’s the lighting? How’s my sound?
Fifteen minutes out. Two minutes. Go time.
A week and a half ago I gave my first keynote speech to a group of creatives gathered together by Allbirds. I hopped on a webinar, talked through a presentation I made about creating and focusing your energy in a noisy world, and really hoped I wasn’t muted the whole time.
It was fun! But also scary! And it reminded me how rare it is to try something completely new for the first time. Newness leads to the jittery hands, the churning stomach, the “how’d it go?!”
As we creep closer to Halloween, that’s something to remember: Scaring yourself can be good. Scary is good. At the very least, it beats boring.
Six Minutes of Pure Joy
My pals Julia Gannon and Ron Passaro are at it again — check out their new bundle of joy Baby Yoda: The Musical which has burrowed straight into my brain and refuses to leave in the best possible way!! BAY-beee YO-da! The apple of my eye!
