if this week already has you dry-heaving
Oh, hi friends!
It’s funny, I already started this day — and therefore the week — feeling “behind.”
This newsletter is late (I’m sorry!!) and when I think about all the things to do today, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Editing, writing, coordinating, little stuff, big stuff, things I didn’t get to last week, things that are barreling around the corner, the fact that I have 300 emails waiting.
The easiest response is to stare mindlessly at my phone until one of the things starts screaming loud enough so I truly have to do it.
And then one tiny action gives you that little reward feeling. And then you want to go on to the next and the next.
Because there’s really no “behind” if you’re moving.
The only way out is through.
The most inspirational quote I can think of is the noise this baby buffalo makes.
The Best $5 I’ve Spent All Year?
Since we’re moving I’ve been looking at things with fresh eyes: this is too rusted or dented; this could be put on the stoop, etc.
But I also love improving things! And this is the easiest fix ever. I was researching leather conditioners (yes...this is what I do...) but gave up and just put these cheap wipes in with my latest Target order. UM, THEY ARE AMAZING. Fixed up the tiny cat scratches in chairs and made my old purse look supple again. Proof that sometimes the easiest way is more than good enough.
(also I just spent 10 minutes trying to upload a low-res version of that photo in the right orientation so you don’t have to crane your neck like an ostrich to see if but the mobile version of Mailchimp makes it impossible and instead of waiting another half hour to send this while I return to my laptop I’m just pushing send now pls forgive my imperfections!!!)
Do you like these daily emails? Please share with a friend!
You can also support my work by checking out my new motivational journal, Do It For Yourself, designed to guide you through your creative and work projects.
Thanks, as always, for reading.
