In praise of the ‘good enough’ decision
Oh, hi friends!
Are you trying to make a decision?
Have you weighed all the options?
Made a pro and con list?
Scrolled all the reviews into the wee hours of the morning?
Endlessly analyzed the details with your partner, your best friends, your therapist, your neighbor?
If you still can’t decide, I wonder…have you thought about the “good enough” decision?
You could spend another two months maximizing your happiness by knowing you got the absolute best deal or make the perfect choice, but you might also torture yourself in the process.
Whatever you decide today, that can simply be good enough.
“Messy is movement.”
My friend Carrie Seim said this the other day and I love it. So much in three little words. If your Friday is messy, just know that you’re (literally, figuratively, emotionally) moving.
Btw, you should check out her wonderful audiobook The Flying Flamingo Sisters!
I’m Still Not a Great Cook But At Least Now I Know How to Make Chicken?
Since I talk so much about saving time and being efficient, I’m shocked that I haven’t previously mentioned my new fascination with HelloFresh. Meal kits are old news now (I never said this was a HIP NEWSLETTER lol) but I’d never actually tried them until July, when we started getting 3x/week meals.
Turns out my least favorite part of cooking is finding recipes and buying ingredients! The actual cooking itself is tolerable. I’m no chef — these recipes are not complex — but it’s been a good reminder of the benefit of trying something new.
And oh look, I just realized I have a code for you to get $40 off your first order (which gives me $20 off my next order). I'm not a special ~influencer~ (anyone who has HelloFresh can get this code), but here is the invite in case you want to try it out!!

You can also support my work by checking out my new motivational journal, Do It For Yourself, designed to guide you through your creative and work projects.
Thanks, as always, for reading.
