A quickie for you
Oh, hi friends!
We are moving in a week — not far, Brooklyn to Manhattan! — and of course I’m sorting through every item I own, debating whether it’s worth keeping.
Chair with broken leg? Bye-bye.
Stacks of old drafts I have saved on my computer? See ya.
But there’s another category of things I’ve discovered: items I love that I’ve overlooked or ignored the last few years.
How about that vintage chrome lamp with new spatterings of rust? One Google search and I found that a bit of damp fine steel wool will polish that right up.
And hey, maybe that tray hidden under all those knick-knacks could actually be functional somewhere else…
And on and on.
Maybe you don’t need a move to show you the beauty in your environment.
But taking a second to evaluate your things — seeing what can be discarded, improved, or gifted to someone else — might help you breathe new life into them. And, perhaps, yourself.
