I revived my ancient MacBook
Oh, hi friends!
I rescued an ancient MacBook from my closet yesterday, and after a few unsuccessful attempts at turning it on (and a chat with an Apple rep who deemed it “Obsolete”), I finally got it to light up. I was immediately taken back to 2008. And this was one of the quotes on my desktop notes. Typed in huge bold red font.
“You can do just about anything for 10 weeks. There is an end in sight.”
UCLA is on the quarter system so I assume this was my pep talk before taking a heavy course load or a class I wasn’t crazy about. I sort of forgot that in college your life — schedule, classmates, homework — changed drastically every 10 weeks, and you simply had to make it through to the next chapter.
I thought the quote was particularly apt now. Whether it’s ten weeks, two weeks, four hours.
Pick the time you need. Find an ending. And maybe even write yourself a reminder that you’ll find 12 years later.
You can do just about anything.
I Read What People Tell Me to Read
I haven’t gotten a chance to read this yet, but Delia of Deez Links tells us this profile of Jeff Bezos’s ex-wife is a doozy, so that’s my weekend read!
