Go toward the unknown
Oh, hi friends!
Don’t dwell in the fear of the unknown.
That advice comes from my favorite money guru Suze Orman in her Women & Money podcast.
It got me thinking about all the unknowns we face in life. Our careers, our living situations, any number of potential outcomes for tomorrow, next month, next year.
It got me thinking about how easy it is stop right on the edge.
We sit deep in the unknown, thinking that’s a safe place.
But what if it’s not?
What if knowing what comes next gives you some kind of solid ground? We can’t control everything, of course, but we can make choices if we have the opportunity.
And getting out of the unknown may not be perfect, but it gives you something more valuable: certainty.
Don’t dwell in the fear of the unknown.
Make a choice where you can, clear some cobwebs, and turn something into a known today.
“And that may be the greatest lesson of all: We control the stories we tell about our transitions. Instead of viewing them as periods we have to grind our way through, we should see them for what they are: healing periods that take the frightened parts of our lives and begin to repair them.
We can’t keep the wolves from interrupting our fairy tales, and that’s OK. Because if you banish the wolf, you banish the hero. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that we all need to be the hero of our own story.”
So much valuable advice on managing life’s big transitions in this great article. (h/t Charlotte Cusumano Maiorana)
Good Work Vibes Ahead
I’m into this dreamy song and creative video for the Opus Orange song “The Lucky Ones.” Makes me want to crack open one of the many notebooks on my shelf and start drawing.
